Isamu Noguchi: Play Equipment
This small format booklet, produced by The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum Japan, provides an overview of Isamu Noguchi’s Play Equipment. It features nineteen spreads of jungle gyms, slides, swings, seesaws, modules, mazes, cubes and even Octectra.
The following quote, from Noguchi, in Japanese and English, opens the book: “It’s their world, not a grown-up’s world. It’s a land in which a person three feet tall can run around. I want the child to discover something I created for him—and I want him to confront the earth as, perhaps, early man confronted it.”
