Published by The Noguchi Museum on the occasion of the retrospective Toshiko Takaezu: Worlds Within (March 20 – July 28, 2024), this commemorative book celebrates Takaezu’s extraordinary artistic practice as it was showcased in the largest exhibition of her work to date.
The book features stunning new installation photography by Nicholas Knight capturing the immersive and hybrid displays of nearly 200 works including ceramics, weavings, and paintings that found a natural home in Noguchi’s museum. The book also includes short texts by the exhibition co-curators Glenn Adamson, Leilehua Lanzilotti, and Kate Wiener; a chronology of Takaezu’s life and career; and a full checklist of the exhibition.
